(Health, Safety, Environment)

Course Overview

This seminar is designed for technical staff, project managers, project engineers and for those who have not previously worked on WtE technologies. It is an introductory course that will provide information on the most commonly used technologies in the WtE sector (thermochemical conversion, bio-chemical conversion, fermentation, landfill to gas, etc.) as well as some emerging technologies. Furthermore, during the seminar an overview of the economics and markets, socio-economics, environmental impacts and market outlook will be given. To put the theory in practice, a project case of a food waste anaerobic digestion plant will be presented. Since this is a process plant, we will see the different key equipment by using a 3D model animation. Critical aspects like waste characterization, gate fee, biogas yield, by-products, feed in tariffs, emissions, capex, opex, etc will be addressed.
