Mr. Kerr has over thirty years of varied technical and project management experience including over twenty years of experience in the design, planning and management of construction and maintenance projects related to oil and gas pipelines or production facilities in North America and around the globe. Doug is well versed in Canadian pipeline standards and regulations, especially with CSA Z662.
Construction support or oversight as the project manager / pipeline engineer has been a significant component of many of Doug’s projects. Major projects have included key roles on the Alaska Pipeline Project, Mackenzie Gas Pipeline, AlasCan Pipeline and the Alberta Clipper Pipeline which have involved large diameter long distance gas and liquid pipeline systems in terrain varying from the prairies to north of the Arctic Circle. Principle abilities include: Ability to lead a team of diverse individuals to successful completion of a project; Flexible and adaptable with experience in many roles and workplace environments; Construction management/support for a variety of onshore pipeline and pipeline facilities projects.
Business background relating to many facets of project management, costing, scheduling, and execution of projects within the Oil & Gas industry; Engineering background in facilities or pipeline design and construction; Business background in the scope definition, design and execution of pipeline inspection and maintenance services; Knowledge of SAP Project System and Investment Management modules plus their integrated relationship with other modules; Knowledge of Project Management Principals and Techniques combined with varied Projects. Various SAP module training courses developed and delivered. Doug provided the initial direction and framework for the Pipeline 101 course and stewarded its development as department Director.
