Howard Thomas

Howard has a unique ability to make the complex simple for his clients and audiences. He combines an in depth technical background with a wide-ranging business experience but is best known for his engaging style of presentation. He is formally technically accredited as a Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Chartered Professional Chemical Engineer and has worked on hydrocarbon installations globally, from roles as a technician to executive consultancy. Howard believes that advantaged people have a duty to help those less advantaged than themselves in a sustainable way, as a result he founded Carnegie Spirit in 2009 to promote these ideals. In 2005, Howard began delivering professionally accredited training with ESD Simulation Training Ltd, delivering the full suite of ESD courses until 2009. As well as continuing to deliver ESD courses, Howard developed a range of other technical and pursuit of business process excellence courses for PI Minerva, a training and competency company. PI Minerva also designed accredited competency programmes for oil and gas companies, for instance Permit to Work or ISSOW as it is now known. Under the Clough AMEC banner Howard delivered multi-million-dollar competency programmes for the new LNG assets in Australia: QGC (now Shell) LNG, Wheatstone LNG and ExxonMobil PNG LNG. As well as designing the programmes, Howard also delivered the foundational training from physics and chemistry to full scale LNG optimization.
